Laurey-Anne Roodenburg , a first-term City Councillor, has called Quesnel home for the past 13 years. She’s not new to the political scene, however. She’s been very involved within the community in many different organizations, including being a Quesnel Spirit of BC Committee member since its inception. She currently sits as second vice-president to the British Columbia Confederation of Parent Advisory Councils.
In addition to her regular Council duties, Laurey has been appointed to the Community Involvement portfolio on Council. She’ll be Council’s representative to the Neighbourhood Associations, Business Improvement associations and the Chamber of Commerce. She’ll also be a liaison with Communities In Bloom and the Spirit Committee. Finally, she’ll also sit on the Labour Relations Committee.
Laurey works downtown as an assistant manager in a ladies clothing store. She and husband Herb have two teenage children.
Laurey looks forward to working with the people of Quesnel and the new city council for the next three years. “I know there are lots of challenges ahead for us as a community, but I will work hard to make sure Quesnel thrives and grows.”
