North Cariboo Recreation and Parks

North Cariboo Recreation and Parks is a joint function funded by the Cariboo Regional District and the City of Quesnel. The boundaries extend to and include Ten Mile Lake, Barlow Creek, Dragon Lake/Red Bluff, the City of Quesnel, Bouchie Lake and part of the Milburn Lake area.

The primary functions within North Cariboo Recreation and Parks include the Quesnel and District Twin Arenas, the Quesnel and District Arts and Recreation Centre including Alex Fraser Park, Pioneer Park on Dragon Lake, Costa Cove Park on Ten Mile Lake and community halls and park facilities in Bouchie Lake and Barlow Creek. Alex Fraser Park and Bouchie Lake also have equestrian facilities.

The City of Quesnel manages the Arts and Recreation Centre and the Twin Arenas. Non-profit volunteer agencies provide recreational services as follows:

  • The Alex Fraser Park Society manages Alex Fraser Park.
  • Pioneer Park is managed by the Quesnel Archery Club.
  • Costa Cove Park is run by the Parkland Community Association.
  • Bouchie Lake Park and hall is operated by the Bouchie Lake Recreation Commission.
  • Barlow Creek Park and hall is managed by the Barlow Creek Recreation Commission.
