![]() THE COMMUNITY ACTION ON ENERGY EFFICIENCY PILOT PROGRAMThe Community Action on Energy Efficiency (CAEE) pilot project was initiated in Quesnel in January 2005. The city was selected from a number of candidate communities by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) and the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM) to participate in this initiative. In addition to NRCan and MEM, the program is also supported BC Hydro and Terasen Gas. The purpose of the CAEE program is to provide people, business and industry with information and support to implement energy efficient measures. There are a number of benefits to the community from promoting energy efficiency. They include opportunities for greater economic development and diversification, reduced impacts to the environment, reduced energy related costs to citizens, the municipality, industry and business and increased energy and economic security. |
