North Cariboo Multi-Center plans continue

On November 10, the North Cariboo Joint Planning Committee approved the tender award for Bridging/Compliance Consultant Services to Cannon Design Architects Ltd.

Members from Cannon Design and MHPM were in Quesnel November 12 for a one-day orientation. They visited the proposed site then met with the Multi-Centre Design Advisory Committee.
They will return to Quesnel on December 8 and 9 when they will begin their meetings with stakeholder groups. Mark your calendars!

City to draft wood-first bylaw

The City of Quesnel is leading the way for local governments in the province as it has committed to developing a Wood First bylaw designed to link to the Province of British Columbia’s Wood First Act.

Council approved a resolution on Nov. 9 stating the City will continue to support the ongoing development of its wood culture through a variety of means and that it is committed to crafting a bylaw to promote wood use in local construction.

HEALTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE

CALL FOR MEMBERS

The Health Advisory Committee serves as an Advisory Committee appointed by Council. This nine-member Advisory Committee seeks direction from Council and in turn, makes recommendations to Council on matters relating to health issues.

The Quesnel Health Advisory Committee engages community members in the identification of health needs, issues and priorities and is a communications link regarding health between City Council, the Northern Health Authority and the Cariboo Chilcotin Regional Hospital District.

The Quesnel Health Advisory Committee meets monthly, September to June or at the call of the Chair.

The Committee has one vacant position. This appointment is for a two-year term.
